345hp from a v6?? possible???

Tell me guys, what do you think...Is is possible to get 300-345hp from a V6 F-body with the use of a s/c\t/c, performance headers, hi-flo cat, with exhaust, and 3.73 gears ( don't know if that has any factor in speed). I'm sure there are some things I left out, but we know all the other intricate details of getting such power, and containing it. ( at least you guys do)...I have a V6 and I love that car, I want it to be the ultimate sleeper firebird.. Is it possible to obtain that goal.. please tell me I'm not insane for thinking that I could...

Re: 345hp from a v6?? possible???

damn well better be possible, I'm aiming for 270-300 myself. And that's with a beefed up & turbo'd 3.4.

You've got a 99 3.8 right? I personally wouldn't go any higher than 3.42 gears in the rear if you're wanting to keep it a daily driver and still get semi-good gas mileage. But yes, it's very possible. It's been done tons of times. And it's especially easy with the 3.8. So you've already got a good starting point. I'd suggest going witha turbo. That'll give you the best bang for the buck. As for exhaust.. keep you're stock manifolds and have those lead to the turbo. from there.. high-flow cat. And then I'd suggest eBay for a good borla system. That's what I did. Got a really nice kit for $555 brand new right out the box. I'd really suggest that you didn't settle with Flowmaster or Magnaflow, especially if you're wanting to run a turbo. Go with the high quality stuff. Always remember... you get what you pay for.

Then again.. you could probably just get the remote mount STS turbo system. I've heard really good things about it. It basically replaces your muffler and requires alot less fabrication. Google it and check it out if you haven't heard of it. I'm not too much of a fan for it due to the filter location.

Re: 345hp from a v6?? possible???

only way to get that power is with a good sized turbo. i'm guessing the internals need to be beefed up to get you there also. i say beef that engine up with some forged internals and get it sleeved and then boost the shit out of it. only thing is your gonna have to pretty much replace everything else in the drivetrain cause its built to run a 200hp v6 not a 400hp turbo'd car. new rearend, new tranny, and many other things i bet. as far as cost effectivness goes your gonna need to really spend some cash here.
