Tamiya Putty FINALLY!

Finally, my LHS had some Tamiya Polyster Putty, took it up before it was gone. The only problem I have with it is that I don't know how to use it. So, if someone can give me some directions on how much to use of the putty and how much of the hardener per batch. Thanks.

Not to be rude or impatient, but if I don't know how this putty works and what the directions are, my S2000 will end up like my WRX, and we don't want another one of those do we? So please, I need the amounts needed of putty and hardener, mixing time, setting time, applying time, drying time, and any other useful information.

before I bought my first type of putty, I did alot of searching to see what type I would use. I don't remember what I read about polyester, but I do remember seeing alot in the threads about it. Try searching because I remember reading about it on this forum. If I come across it, I'll post the link

i use milliput, which is an epoxy putty. but in your second post you mentioned putty and hardener so i'm guessing it's a two part putty, right(i don't know much about putties)? so shouldn't you put the same amount of putty and hardener? that's how milliput works. i would think this will work, especially if they give you the same amount of hardener and putty. i'm sure you will have enough time before it sets to mold it into a basic shape. if you are trying to make a bodykit i strongly suggest using styrene(plastic sheet), or it will be a lot harder to get the sides equal to each other. with my milliput i would usually let it sit for a day or two before i start sanding. mix the parts until they are one color(for example: my milliput is like gray and yellow or something, i don't remember cuz i haven't used it in a while, so i would mix it until it was this color somewhat like your boogers). that's about it. remember, i have epoxy putty, so i don't know how close that is to polyester putty.

I figured it out and it's just about ready to sand. It's a two part putty that is sandable in about 30 minutes. It doesn't build up well so it takes multiple layers to fill in large gaps without styrene. I just hope that the head lamp covers fit.
