Tell me which tires you would run

aight guys/ladies i need some help. there are sooo many tires out there and i have no idea where to start. I'm looking for a good performance tire, but one that has really good tread life cause i need to drive my car from chicago to san antonio twice a year. (1400 miles) i've heard about the Kumho's... but not sure which ones. i heard they are new to the US and they are good, but just to get the tires out there they are selling them for cheap. so for a daily driver, on a 96 civic coupe, has to make 2 road trips a year, and wants to keep it under $130 a tire. what should i do? what worked for yall? thanks
Johnnie

I just got some Bridgestone S-03's, but they are a bit pricy. I have heard people having good luck with Kumho's. Check out tirerack.com, they have all kinds of ratings and reviews.

For the price and wear I'd get the Kumho Ecsta 712s. nothing else will be cheaper than $130.

Ok, i just spent 30 minutes reading through what a lot of people had to say about the Kumhos. and for an entry level performance tire it sounds like they handle well and the tire wear (280) is good. only question i have left is should i go with the 711, 712, or the touring series of Kumho? daily drive that needs good tire wear.

The 711s are good dry traction and ok wet. The 712s are good dry traction and good wet traction.

I used these (712s) all last year and they worked great. Lasted all year and then some (also had these tires shaved about 8K miles).
