How to tell which transmission you have?
I have a '97 Dodge Stratus 2.4L with overdrive. I need to know how to Identify the transmission.

if its the 4spd its a "604" 3spds are "413" what else you need to know

The Chrysler 4 speed automatics have an electronic solenoid pack outside on the front of the transmission and there should be an electronic connection to it.Yours has the 4 speed automatic,most stratuses have that transmission.It does not have the 3 speed automatic

FYI. AAMCO stocks all parts for the 604, it's their number 1 transmission to rebuild . The AAMCO mechanic said anything over 75,000 and the 604 trany is on borrowed time.
