oil presssure dropping

hi guys i got a 79 f150 351 mod.. every time i pull up to a redlight
the old pressure drops all the way to the Low marker. but it goes back up
when i take off. is this a serious problem or is this a simply fix . thanks for your help todd.......

Install mechanical gauge to see what pressure is at idle. If pressure is OK, replace sending unit. If pressure is still low, look to weak oil pump or excessive bearing clearances.
