12 Second Sleeper

How would you do it?
Im considering a turbo dodge so far.. what else should i be lookin at?

About 15k-20k pricerange. Auto, turbo, high redline, and AWD are all pluses.

Re: 12 Second Sleeper

Broad range with just those specs.

How about a C4 vette with a hot LT1? A last-gen Camaro with a centrifugal blower? A Fox-body mustang with the same?

AWD; you could put some serious cash into a subaru SVX.

Or, just buy a Cyclone S10 and be done with it

Re: 12 Second Sleeper

I dont consider many of those cars to eb sleepers.

Vettes, Camaros, Foxes are all obviously fast. Also, Syclones and Typhoons are the worst kept secret i can think of.

I was thinkin something along the lines of a sedan or a truck that people dont expect.

Re: 12 Second Sleeper

get an old toyota tercel, but the old pickup truck sr5 engine in it, i've also seen a geo metro that did 12's at the local track too. many other ways, older volvos and saabs are actually quite powerful and you could easily modify them.

LT1 Roadmaster with a blower
Supercharged Regal GS or Bonneville with a pulley.

Re: 12 Second Sleeper

How about a 1992 Honda Civic hatch w/ a built GSR turbo engine. Those little cars don't weigh anything and on a stock GSR engine you can make 300-350whp on a good set up w/ a good tune. That little car would be a rocket!!

Re: 12 Second Sleeper

I got it, you could borrow my idea and buy the JDM STi engine and transmission out of the 2005 WRX STi. It is a 2.5L flat 4 turbo w/ 300whp and 300ft/lbs of torque. It has an all wheel drive 6spd transmission.

Now you take that and put it into either an early 90's Geo Metro (convertible preferred) or a VW Rabbit. That would be the COOLEST sleeper ever!!

Re: 12 Second Sleeper

i would go with a grand prix GTP....noone would expect a family sedan to rip a 12 second quarter...and according to jeff (jeffgtpsleeper) he didn't have to do an insane amount of mods to be an 11 second car...just my
