Re: First Race In The 6
Not bad for racing with 5 extra people in the car, and by the way, what car are you driving? ... Im too lazy to look into your profile.

Re: First Race In The 6
Man that duratec gets around, that motor is in everything anymore. Ford wouldn't make so many of them if they weren't good. At least you didn't get the ticket.

... I guess you cant blame them since they took the design directly from Porsche. Off the top of my head the 2.5L and 3.0L duratec are in the Ford Contour, Escape, Taurus, Lincoln LS, Jaguar X-type, S-type, Mercury Mystique, Cougar, Sable, Mazda 6. Aston Martin even used 2 3.0L V6s in their prototype V12 Vanquish.

Re: First Race In The 6
Damn that Duratec is doing good, thats gotta be one of fords most produced engines since the 5.0. Its a good motor, I drove a taurus (not really a great example) with one in it and the thing really moved for the type of car it was, it was really smooth too. Much better than the 3.0 Vulcan motor that was in my 97 taurus.

you have a '05 I take it? For 22k or so in that car you should be looking at it as a family driver. If you wanted a fast 4 door for around 20k you should have been looking at the srt-4. Not trying to be mean but I drove a 6 around and its worthy of saving money on gas... not mashing the pedal to the floor. On the other hand I looked up a '06 mazdaspeed 6 and was impressed to see 274hp and awd on their new model.. believe its the same concept as that ford/mercury awd one they started pitching in 05. That could have some more potential.

Re: First Race In The 6
The mazda 6 is a nicer car than the SRT-4, even if it's not as fast...good call on not running the red light, at least you had the right state of mind...sometimes you gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em...and about the mazdaspeed 6....nice quick car...but 35 grand? I'll pass.

Re: First Race In The 6
274hp, awd?, 35grand? Almost sounds like mazda/ford wanted to build something to compete with the EVO and STI. How much does the EVO and STI cost? close to the same? I know almost nothing about this Mazda6 so...
