2000 taurus ffv.....stalls after warms up

i have a problem that nobody can tell me whats wrong with it.i have read 45 posted pages and have the same problem as alot of other ppl herehave.here is my problem.........car starts fine, idle fine, does not run hot.UNTILL i drive it about 30 or40 miles.when at idle it start to stall out.the tach reads 4-7 and then it sounds and feels like its going to stall.when i give it gas it does nothing.and when the car dies i cannot start it for atleast an hour.and then it will start right up and drive fine for least another 30-40 miles.i have been told it could be anything from a coolant tempature sensor all the way to the tranny.well that is a hell of alot of money.i have replaced.the coil, wires, plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, alt and then some sensors somewhere(they said there were 4 of them that work together????)its a 2000 ford taurus 3.0 ffv with 130,000 they did say they check for codes but never told me what they were................you ppl are my last hope any info will help me

With the stalling I don't know if it will give you any useful codes, but we really might find it helpful if you could get them for us. Usually the dealership will list them on your invoice. They start with a "P" and have 4 numbers after that. Example: "P0401". If they're not on your invoice then frankly I would call them up and tell them they owe it to you to tell you what codes were pulled, and if they don't have record of it tell them you want the codes scanned again for free.

Are you using an ethanol blend fuel? We had a few of these and got a grant to purchase E85 to run in them. We found that the ethanol content was too high. Mixed fuel with regular gasoline, about 50/50 and problems disappeared. If you are running regular unleaded fuel, then you ned to check to see if you are missing spark or fuel when problem occurs.

Re: 2000 taurus ffv.....stalls after warms up

The P1237 is the fuel pump secondary circuit has been interrupted. Wiring or relay problem. Possibly weak battery at one time in the past.
P0191 is fuel pressure sensor. Either high or low pressure has been detected. Or a bad fuel pressure sensor.
P0340 is camshaft positioning sensor circuit failure. More than likely the camshaft sensor has come apart and also ruined the camshsft positioning syncronizer.
So it seems to me the parts you ordered are not gonna help much.

MAF Sensor.

I had this exact same problem. Replaced the MAF sensor and the problem was absolutely gone.

In my case the care would run fine for 30-40 minutes and then start acting like it was going to stall when I would excelerate. When comming to a stop (stop sign or stop light) it would die. When it didn't die and the light would turn grewen, it would sputter.

This problem got progressively worse to the point that it would only take about 3 or 4 minutes to start stalling.

Good luck with your problem.
