Need a paint job

Hey Crew,

I need a paint job on my 95 Formula (black). I have never had a whole car painted, and I don't want to get ripped off. The car has a few small dents in the rear quarters, otherwise no damage. Any guesses as to what a fair price range would be to get it painted? It's a daily driver, so I don't want to spend many thousands. It will stay black, don't worry.
I live in south florida (miami) if anyone can recommend a shop down here.

Thanx

Re: Need a paint job

Do you have a Fact-O-Bake anywhere near you? You can get it done there for around $400. Friend of mine had his Monte Carlo done painted from white to black and had a ton of his dents fixed for around $350. But that was their anniversary special. Shouldn't be too much more than that. If you don't have one near you, then I'd go to Maaco. They're not much more expensive.

If you take her to maaco, do ALL the body work, and sanding of your paint yourself, or they wont.

There are Bake-o-lites in Florida, but they are too far North. I have heard a lot of bad stuff about Maaco, enough to make me want to avoid them. I just checked one recommended local private shop, and they wanted 3 weeks and $2700 to do it. Ouch! I'll keep looking. There are just too many to choose from here. Thanks for your advice guys.
