yet another super charger question

about how much would it cost to put a super charger on a 1994 gp se?
with all the other things you have to change included. would i be able to buy just one piece at a time and put it on before i get the super charger or should i just put it all on at once? does the super charger increase or decrease the mileage. if it decreases it about how much does it go down?

By the time you would buy an install everything you need, save your money and buy another car. If you don't beat the hell out of any car it will last longer.

Re: yet another super charger question

kustomkid54 is entirely correct. The 94 is the older design and would take some serious mods to put a supercharged engine in the car. The Series 1 engine was not that powerful so you would want at least a seriers 2. So save your money you could probably purchase a different car much cheaper and would give you the performance you are looking for.

Bob, didn't we agree. You'd save the easy ones for me. Now I have to wait another year.

lol. I promised to give you the easy ones not the no-brainers.

BTW - I test drove a '05 GTP Saturday, still no GXPs available locally. With the GM employee discount the sales guy quoted me $24.5K. I was thinking about trading in my '01 Regal GS. They offered $10,800 on the trade which is NADA average trade in only. He explained that they pay average only. I told him that it is quite obvious that its above average. The Regal only has 42K miles and is in immaculate condition. I told him that I'd have to think about that and to let me know when they get a '05 GXP in and left. What a rip!!

Re: yet another super charger question

Well, the best advice on dealing with cars is give them time. Most dealers will of course screw you over if you want to buy today.

I would go in there, give them YOUR PRICE on the Regal and just walk away if they "can't match it." Most dealers that I or people I've known dealt with will give you a better deal, especailly if that car keeps sitting there. I mean they are going to turn that car around and sell it for $13-14 to someone who wants it that day anyway :-).[

I know that you want the GXP, so it really isn't that big of a deal right now.

I agree. Its better not to be irrational and give it some careful consideration. Personally, I'm glad it worked out that way. Incidently, the top dog sales manager called me and added $900 to the trade-in value of the Regal. I told him that I'm more interested in a GXP. The average retail is $12.9K so it might be better to sell it outright.

Doesn't make any sense to get a '05 GTP Comp G versus the GXP. Nothing to be gained except debt. I hope GM re-introduces the employee discount for the '06 models.

I can get the GM deal anytime. But don't know how that would work. You'd have to get a loan for the car. Don't think my Brother-in-Law wants to let you make payments to him. And if I buy another car, I'll be moving to El Paso to live with you.

Hey Jim, you're welcome to come back to El Paso anytime. I quite sure the overall cost of living here is lower than back east. If nothing else we've got some nice old soldiers homes for Vets in Texas......lol.

I think the best thing to do is wait till the '06 comes out. There's a couple of first year productions bugs on the '05 that GM needs to work out. One of them is some sort of steering system problem thats quite troubling.

Hey if I move to Texas, I don't want to spend all my time visiting you at old soldiers homes.
Back wheel bearing is starting to make noise. Thought I'd call my friend who ownes a shop down the street and see if he could replace it.
He goes into the computer and says, "GM wants $500.00 for the bearing. I think I can get it for $179.00" I called around and found it for $89.98. Now I just found out who my real friends are. He said let me call you bacl on the labor charge. Told him he better get out of that damn computer.
Hey you didn't like "Hitman"?
