Sexism in Cars ?
hi Fanatics .
i have a question . sounds really dumb but since i moved to another country on a working holiday , i have seen cars / people / etc ... what i have bene thinking is that - is there sexism in cars ? meaning , is there a gender linked to a car ? i know majority of the public dont care & i dont care myself but ive just been thinking about this . like a weird thought that a guy driving a c class mercedes looks funny compared to a guy driving a 3 series BMW . Any thoughts on which gender looks funny in which car ? |

Re: Sexism in Cars ?
Any man in a PT Cruiser, new VW beetle, or a ricer makes my question his choices.
Any woman on a Harley, or driving a true classic muscle car that she truly likes makes me wonder. Miata is a middle ground. Although its a chick car, it has very refined almost german performance roots so I respect a man for its performance choice. If a man chooses a Miata because its a "cool car" then I start questioning. I had to question myself in my E30 cabrio. Am I an 80's poser? I truly chose it for its performance, but it is a little "wimpy" as a man's car choice. Non-cabrio is a different thing. That car is all manly. I guess what I'm saying is that its entirely based on the motivation of the buyer. If a guy drives a new Civic because it was a wise and economical transportation investment, its a smart choice. If a guy drives a 91 civic becausehe thinks it beats mustangs with stickers and a wing, he's a complete poser.
