Clutch bypass for Clifford Matrix

Anyone know where to get a clutch bypass for a Clifford Matrix (I believe it is Matrix, maybe Matrix II?) I bought one and found out that the place I am installing it won't do the clutch bypass but will install one if I buy it from somewhere else. This is the best clifford alarm I could find and costs about $400, kinda seems stupid it doesn't come with a clutch bypass but i guess they are illegal or something.

Unfortunately the Martrix line is not designed to work with manual transmissions. That AG4 or Solaris will.

The difference?
With the AG4 or Solaris, after driving your car, you do remote take over, close the door with the car running, and arm the alarm. Provided the door has not been opened you may remote start your vehicle. This way it is safe to assume that the parking brake is set, and the vehicle is not in gear.

The Matrix does not have this feature, or ability.

Clutch bypass is easy... just not the safest thing.

Why don't u stop bothering with these alarms and just go with Compustar. It's possibly a lil bit more expensive but it is made to work with manual cars and it is by far the best alarm on the market. U don't have to fool around finding a clutch bypass or anything like that. Plus, it is a two way pager system with an lcd display remote that shows u the status of the car, if anyone has broken in, and where they have broken in....just my opinion tho

Hmm let's see here. The one we bought and tested for patent infringements.

Batteries in both remotes would last a maximum of 24 hours.
It was not FCC legal.

As for no clutch bypass needed? Let's see... throw 12v+ to the starter wire at the steering column, clutch is not depressed... that 12v hits the open clutch switch or open clutch switch relay (depending on the vehicle) and can't go any further. So either you catch the starter wire after the clutch switch, or you bypass the clutch switch with an external relay... either way, you have to bypass the clutch switch.

Well, that's all good and dandy to know, but unfortunately I to the alarm already in my car (it cost me $116, how much is that compustar?) and I had someone else install it, hell if I want ot pay to have it uninstalled and install a new one. So besides getting a new alarm, any ideas on how to do what I want with the one I have?

I'm not angry. If I were, you would know it. Your point is in all actuality null anv void.

Let's say for instance that you are a chip designer for computer systems. I am not. Now, I see that Googleheimer Inc. just created a 7gig chip and ram that supports it, and PC magazine says it's the best thing since sliced bread.... If you dispute this fact, I should listen, because this is your profession.... right? Just because PC magazine says it's awesome, does not make it correct.

For starters, I highly suggest having it professionally installed.

Make sure the neutral safety wire is hooked to the parking brake wire (this wire will show a ground when the parking brake is applied.

Then, look into finding a neutral safety switch. This unit mounts around your shifter (under the boot) and you adjust it so the only open point is when the car is in neutral. The Right Connections carries it, but you must be a dealer to purchase from the (800-429-6200).

Hi Everyone:I have a matrix alarm system (3-button remote) that was already installed in the car when I purchased it last year, used. For some reason that I can not figure out is the LED light is on steady (wasn't always this way); has been for some time; I can not find the "valet" switch I keep reading about and the clifford.com site is really of no help....I keep reading that the valet switch should be accessible to the driver but I don't even know what it looks like. There is also this two button thing, one has a * and the other is blank...any ideas what this is? I'd like to be able to arm my car but at this time, I can not. Please email me direct if you can with any helpful suggestions or links I can review! Thank you!

You have it in Valet mode. Try this. With the driver's door open, press button #1 then button #2 then #1. You should hear your locks cycle and then see the light is out. Then wait about 10 seconds and try to arm it. It should beep again. If not, try the above again or look real good for the valet switch. You can go to www.directed.com and print off another owner's manual for your alarm under "guides".

Thanks for the reply but when you mention button #1 & #2 are you talking about the * button I see? I can't for the life of me find the valet switch; I've looked everywhere lol; under the seat, in the trunk, under the hood! It's not the same as those two buttons I mentioned right? I will try what you suggest; I figured it was in valet mode, just not sure how I got it in valet mode grrrr...

you will never find a valet switch in any of the places you named. Look on the driverside kneepanel. Where your knees point when you sit in the seat. Up under there check the pocket on the left handside of the wheel. It will be underthere somewhere.

Thank you! I will try that next; the other step offered didn't work and I am still not getting any clarification on the two button thingy with the "*" and blank thing; it's wired but i don't know to what; perhaps the horn under the hood? no clue; I will look for the valet switch though; that should help with the current issue correct? Thanks again for your help. Someone took one of my hub caps and I'm determined to get my car armed again as soon as possible, just been a bit slow going (those were original hub caps for my altima!!!)
