Smile My models and real cars...

Hi,

I'm sorta new here. Been snooping around and picking up some really good tips. I've been building models based on what I thought was right with very little direction. I'm glad I found this site.

Anyhow, here are some pictures of two models that I'm currently working on. They're obviously not finished. But these two models are inspired by my SC300 and my friend's LS400. I hope you guys notice some resemblance

Here are pictures of the real cars:

So what did you end up using for the champagne color on your (scale) SC? And nice matching wheels! What kind of wheels are yours?

And how did you find us, BTW?

VERY impressive! Can't wait to see them done!
There is something special about making your own car, like it being very easy to decide what colour each part is!!!

I ended up going to Pep Boys and picking up some gold paint that was for Toyotas. It works ok. The Tamiya black came out so smoothly...I was really surprised. This is the first time I've used Tamiya spray paints. Do all Tamiya paints go on so smoothly? or does it depend on color? I used semi-gloss black.

My friend's wheels are Wald Duchalets (sp?) and mine are Volk GTN's.

Man great job on getting them to match the real car.

Those rims on your friends Lexus remind me of the BMW from that old Chevy Chase movie.
