Dick Simon Duracell Mobil 1 Sardia - Lola T93/00 FORD WIP

A new modelling room, lots of coffee, some good tunes on the stereo, motor racing season underway, Let's go modelling!!!!!!!!!!!

The subject is Dick Simon's Duracell Mobil 1 Sardia - Lola T93/00 FORD. This was raced in season 1993 by Raul Boesel.

OK. This kit started life as the Newman Haas version, but I messed up the monocoque (NOTE to oneself: Use gentle heat from a hairdryer on models period!... ). I purchased the Dick Simon version, and am proceeding to continue as the Duracell version.(Note, several years have elapsed .) Hence the primed Monocoque.

So far, I have done a lot of CF decalling.

I have scratchbuilt the Turbo Intake mesh.

This small stuff will need some more painting before final assembly.

I have began adding wiring to the spark plugs.

I'll wire and plumb the engine.

Hope you guys like it. More to come this week.

Cheers
Nenad

Nice start. I have this kit waiting to be built, unfortunately the decals are unusable so I'll have to get some aftermarket ones.

Cool! I've seen this kit occasionally in my LHS, and have wondered if it was any good- wasn't sure about the snap-loc. You're buildup seems to answer that. Good looking kit, and great work on it! I like the CF work and cylander head detail. Might just consider this one- as much as I love F1, it's cool to see a Tamiya kit for a different series. Looking forward to seeing more.

Coming along great Nens, some really nice details like the turbo intake mesh. Please keep us up to date as you progress.
I've always fancied building one of those Lolas, maybe one day...

Thanks Guys.
I hope I can do as good a job on this as I have seen on the both of your kits.

Cheers
