1/24 Lancia 037 update 23.6. - body

This is my first post, so be gentle. Using this rally classic as a break from aviation models, i think i got hooked on building cars from now on.

I used hasegawa kit, and Reiji PE detail set.
There are some progress photos.

Im currently working on the engine and body (sanding and poliching due a pretty bad orange peel)
Hope you like it.

Nice clean work, but I think the shoulder harnesses are laced wrong.

Re: 1/24 Lancia 037 (hasegawa)

Hi Grga, welcome! Nice to see you here also. I see you have started the 037. Great start, but as Ken said seat belts does not come out on that side and as far as I can see you used one typ of bucles on left seat and other on right, those on drivers seat are right but shold be upside down
But looking good for first car, very good to be honest. Keep it up!

Re: 1/24 Lancia 037 (hasegawa)

could be. But i chose the wrong kind of ribbon for the harness, it scuffs a lot. (but then again, that won't be visible)

Hi Saša. See you on some competition in SLovenia.
The buckles on the Co-driver side are wrong, because
i had no more of the right ones. Better to use something that resembles the real thing than nothing, i guess. I might do some additional work on the harneses, but i'm not really sure. Love your web site, BTW.

Re: 1/24 Lancia 037 (hasegawa)

I think Studio 27 have a detail kit for it, if you´d like to change the seatbelt harness..

Re: 1/24 Lancia 037 (hasegawa)

This is my favourite Group B car, and can build into an amazing model. Best of luck! Yours looks great so far!

Will be watching this one with interest.

Re: 1/24 Lancia 037 (hasegawa)

Studio 27 does make a nice photoetch plate for this model. Not to hijack your thread, but I recently acquired an Heller Lancia Beta Monte Carlo, which is the Group B version of this car. It is interesting to note the engine in that car is tranverse, where it is longitudinal in this rally car.

Keep going on this project, and welcome to AF!

Re: 1/24 Lancia 037 (hasegawa)

Looking great. I've got that kit in my to-do pile (Along with about 40 others: Once the move and new workshop is finished I'll get cracking on a few).

When you are ready, post some pics of the suspension and engine if you would please.

Re: 1/24 Lancia 037 (hasegawa)

Looking very nice! I think that you can still correct that with belts.

Looks like a good start! What material did you use on the cage? those black things.

By the way Welcome to AF!

Actually you've got it the wrong way round. The 037 was a Group B rally car, the very first of the Group Bs in fact along with the Quattro. The Beta Monte Carlo is a Group 5 racing car.

Nice work btw
