Talking an encounter of sorts!

Ahhh it's been a next to forever since I've told a tale of such vehicular shinanagins including the Panda and myself!

And today, I had more of an encounter rather than a race... details? Indeed, read on:

About to leave work, a co-worker asked me to give her a lift home. Which, I accepted. Don't get the wrong idea. She's a nice lady, but about 20 years my senior and a good three-quarters of a ton heavier than myself. Thus there isn't much attraction. Just the casual chit-chat, that is it, that is all... no way in hell would I hit it. THAT'S NASTY.

Back on track, I'd never given her a ride..err lets not say ride. Lets say, um.. Lift. Yes. Lift.

I'd never given her a lift home before, nor had I ever had somebody who weighed as much as her in my car. Interested in the affects on the cars performance I decide to let the boost do some talking up a long bridge. I was rather dissapointed in the cars pull with the extra weight. But upon realising I was only running about 10psi, I had turned it down from 15psi due to early morning rain had made the drive to work a slightly slippery one, and forgot to turn my electronic-knob-o-horsepower back to 15psi. But I never did get to test the car under max boost with 16 metric tons added drag, If my Z was a boat it'd displace something equivilant to that of a Aircraft carrier.

After dropping of my co-worker. And being in a part of town I rarely visited. I snake my way out of the neighborhood and back onto the main streets.

I pull up to a light, and in the left lane sits a mid 90s Ford Mustang V6, with an auto. Probably one of the slower cars known to mankind. But that's ok. What was inside makes up for it.

Two young ladies, of roughly my age were inside blasting one of those songs you've heard before, but can never place where you've heard it or who does it. It's just 'known'. I look over and notice them dancing in their seats being silly like school girls and just enjoying themselves.

They weren't particularly cute, but by the way they were moving their bodies in their seats one could assume they know how to have a good time. They seemed to notice me as I pulled up. It seemed they exchanged words to one another and the music came down. And the passenger says out her window to me...

"Hey, you're pretty cute... If you like what you see, We'll give you our numbers if you can keep up." she says with a sly smile.

Me, not being one to trust a female under no condition. I have my personal reasons. Laughed it off, but I'm always down for a bit of fun in a car.

"Are you sure? Trust me when I say, I'll keep up." I replied.

They both have a giggle at my expense, which is fine. Cause I'll ultimately have the last laugh... at their expense of course.

The light goes green and the girl driving mashes the pedal and her car groans off the line and slowly picks up speed. Ok, it wasn't that bad but it's nothing spectacular. I roll of the line and give it a bit of gas, short shifting around 3500rpm. Giving the illusion, that I'm trying.

At about 50mph, I'm running even with them. When I slowly give it gas to inch ahead. Coming up on another light. We come to a stop.

I casually look over as they roll up. The girls looked kinda miffed that they now had to give me some numbers. Knowing that this light was fairly short, I say to them..

"Now, if you want my number you have to keep up with me."

Before the girls could reply, or give me some bullshit excuse as to why they couldn't give me the numbers they offered. The light goes green and I rev out a tad and let the clutch go and take off.

I didn't let off till I hit 3rd.. or about 75mph. They stayed back, way back.

Me, happy that I totally and utterly destroyed them. I felt like a man... for destroying two chicks in a underpowered car. Yes, I'm such the hero!

Girls piss me off... I'm much more content to leave their headaches and bullshit back behind me. And keep on boostin!

Re: an encounter of sorts!

ehhh, they weren't all that great. And judging by the direction they were traveling.

(leaving the shady part of town)

I don't think I would of wanted to hit it.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
