Exhaust System Comparison

Hi, I would like to know, what exhaust systems out there are considered the "BEST IN THE BUSINESS", I'm looking for a deep tone, not too loud or throaty like Tanabe Super Medallion Racing, so, guys, any of you guys ever had any experience with RS*R ExMag GTII or Fire 5zigen? I'm still skeptical about those two exhaust systems. 5zigen and RS*R, they both have the angled style exit, so that's okay, can somone provide me with any pictures or sound clips at all? Please, your opinions and thougts are greatly appreciated, thank you.

yeah, i know remus, remus is an european company, remus particularly is for european cars. custom piping, i don't know about that, i had it done before already, i didn't really like it at all. i wasn't sure if the way they did is the same way that those exhaust system manufacturers used. technically speaking, i wasn't sure if it was the mandrel bend techniques that they used.

Re: Exhaust System Comparison

hmm Apex'I makes some sweet mufflers that are nice and quiet with a deep tone when you step on the gas. I'm don't think they make full catbacks for the older civics, plus it'd cost around $500 - so you're probably better off buying the universal muffler and going to another muffler shop and be sure to tell them mandrel bends only, no crushed ones.

Tanabe i heard are too loud for peoples liking and can be high pitched. Haven't heard much about RS2 or Fire, but search on google and see if you can get some sound clips. And, if you aren't going turbo 2.5 inch piping should be plenty. Remember, anything is better than stock. GL with your search - i'll be purchasing exhaust soon also

Re: Exhaust System Comparison

How much will custom bent pipes run for a dual exhaust on a '01 EX?

Re: Exhaust System Comparison

Yea I did a few weeks ago, it ranges from 300-600 dollars. That's for the cat back, y split into "dual" exhaust. One of the shops uses magnaflow mufflers and the other uses super turbos. I liked the shop that sold the magnaflows better because they knew more about the honda than the other shop, but my dad doesn't trust them since he got bad service from thier mother store.

dual exhaust, a lot of works are needed for it. but with price like that, better be worth it, that price is comparable to a real cat-back exhaust system, but those shop usually perform MIG welding instead of TIG. If you look at those cat-back exhaust system, they used TIG, the welding looked really clean. MIG welding is cheaper and TIG costs more. TIG works with stainless steel pipes. at the shop, they used a different type of pipe material, not stainless, so TIG does not work. MIG will start leaking over times. heck what am I saying? am I making any sense here? anyway, where do you live? check out this site: www.streetsports.com

Re: Exhaust System Comparison

I'm in Lewisville, Texas. Just north of Dallas and Ft. Worth. The problem stated with aftermarket brand exhausts are that they are custom fit to the car and won't necesarrily fit because of that. I can sall the shop tomorrow what type of welds they use, and the owner should answer any questions I have or y'all can think up of.
