Code P0441 & P0446 (EVAP) HELP 1998 Avalon
Has anyone else experience this code. I have a 1998 toyota avalon (110,000 miles) and engine light keeps coming on after a week or so. I keep resetting it and keeps coming back. Where do i start???

Those two codes are for the EVAP control system (the charcoal canister system).
First thing I'd do is check your gas cap. If it's not on tight and making a good seal, you can get this/these codes. Might try a little silicone seal around the gasket after cleaning it. Be sure to click it for at least three clicks to make sure it's tight enough. Other than the EVAP system, it can also be an O2 sensor. If you have a scanner, take a look at the sensor outputs to see if they're correct. Might also be a MAF sensor--if you've never cleaned it, try that. |
