what are the odds my rims will get stolen?

im thinking about maybe getting some rims for my car, but i wanted to know if my rims would probably get jacked. ive heard of people being followed home and the next day all their stuff was gone (car audio, rims, etc.) the neighbor hood i live in is somewhat bad but its not the worst, so are the chances of my rims getting stolen high?

Re: what are the odds my rims will get stolen?

I live in a pretty seedy part of downtown L.A. and I never have any problems. I don't have rimZ with a "z" (which is what I call anything over 19" ) but some of my wheels would be desirable to theives.

Just recently I put locking lug nuts on a couple to be safe, but after three years I haven't had any problems.

Another thing of note is that here in downtown L.A. there are SOOOO many cars with 20, 22, and 26" rimZ so theft must not be too much of a problem.

I would make sure your insurance company will cover them, and then don't worry about it. If they get stolen, get new ones. Or pocket the money and go back to stock wheels to prevent it from happening again.

best way is to put locking lug nuts on em.....and hopefully they try to do it at night, when ur car is sittin with its alarm on so when they try it u wake up and catch em (for me i would wake up and get my 12 gauge and walk up to them and hold them at gun point till the police came)

if you want to be really sneaky get 2 different kinds of lug locks and put different ones on different wheels

Or you could get 7-sided lug nuts. No way they'd have a tool for that, unless they've seen them and have the right wrench.
