Re: clutches

Centerforce dual friction is nice. But the other two you mentioned arent bad either.

Just remember you need a good pressure plate too, not just the clutch disk.

Re: clutches

If your talking about the King Cobra kit and if memory serves me correct then yes it should have the pressure plate with it. But I would suggest looking at a centerforce or something before you sold yourself on the King Cobra stuff.

Re: clutches

remember if you put a solid disc clutch in you are gonna loose a lot of streetability, they are not very forgiving, i would go with the centerforce stage 2 myself unless you have an a**ton of power

Re: clutches

I don't mind my SPEC stage II. Definite increase in pedal effort, but it isn't really that bad. I wouldn't run it with a stock quadrant, though, that's just asking for trouble...

I'd take a SPEC over the King Cobra. The Stage I is rated to 410 lbs of torque, and is 10 bucks cheaper than a King Cobra through CFM, both come with a new Throwout bearing, and the Spec comes with a pilot bearing...

I had a heavy-duty Ford unit in mine (not by choice) that had "Remanufactured" and "Valeo" stamped into it. The thing chattered like a broken U-joint.

I think the Centerforce Dual Friction is the best diagphram clutch that combines both strength and keeping a nice stock pedal feel.

The King Cobra def adds some pedal pressure but nothign real bad and I was not completely happy wit how it held compared to the Centrforce Dual Friction but for the money it is a good clutch

Heard from many people a Spec 3 clutch is very hook and go. Also do not use a Spec TO bearing I heard they are absolute junk even from guys who love their Spec clutches.
