Which CBR?

Okay Ive been saving up for roughly a year now and basicly need to come to a decision.... to keep saving and buy the CBR 954 RR, or use what money I have now and buy a CBR 600 F4i 2002... Insurance prices are a huge thing to deal with and also the fact of having to wait for the 954... So wanted to see what all of your opinions were, btw I am abit speed happey so a 954 would surly mean me going a tad faster then I should. Not that a 600 wouldnt but more so with the RR.

I think insurance will play the biggest role. You should check with them first to see what you can afford. Also around here I notice left over 929s are really cheap. If you don't have to have the "latest and greatest I would look into one of those, providing the insurance company doesn't rape you.

Have you ridden sport bikes before? If you don't have much experience on the street, i would suggest getting a 600. The liter bikes are a lot to handle, especialy if your a newbie. The 600's offer plenty of power. In no way should a 600 be thought of as a beginner's bike. A 600 will send you pavement surfing if your not ready for it.

Ive probably more less decided on the CBR 600, I figured that not only would insurance kill me but tickets that would be fairly sure to follow would to , No t to say i cant speed on the 600 but with the 954 and 929s i think I would go even faster... which Ive already got one conviction of doing over 100mph which well is considered reckless driving though that was with a cage on weels.... Any how thanks for input.

i've got a 99 F4 and...

for the most part can keep up with almost any liter class bike on the street... i know that opens myself up to a lot of criticizm but let me finish... Most of the time you're only doing up to 60 on the surface streets and up to 75-80 on the freeway. so why do you need a bike that can go faster. no cars can keep up with a 600 and most 600 class bikes are faster and have more power then most people can handle safely and traffice situations allow. that's not to say that liter class bikes aren't faster cuz we all know they are but unless you're on the track when are you going to have the chance to really use all that power. plus, does the added insurance cost really justify purchasing a bike that you won't get to use it's full potential unless you are at the track.
well that's just my .02 worth......................................

cbr 600 f3

Just to help you out some... I have a 98 CBR 600 F3 Smoking Joes Racing Edition, and a 97 Kawasaki Ninja. My CBR has a good deal of power considering it has been piped and jetted with a full Yoshimura Exhaust. You would probably be better off with a 600 considering the weight. And you can throw the 600 around better.
