accord door speaker sizes

does anyone know the door speaker sizes in the 4th and 5th gen accords? thanx

theyre 6 1/2's in the 4th gen dx/lx's and all the 5th's. and 5" in the 4th gen ex/se.

how come they r smaller in the higher model accords?

i actually dont know. i cant really take credit for the info, i got it from a crutchfield catalogue. but theyve always been correct with all my speaker needs so far.

I actually have a 92 Accord EX

I bought some 6 1/2's and they didn't fit, I wondered the same thing, why would the better model accord have smaller speaker sizes.

Anyways, I asked around...and from what I understand... the Ex came with a better Sound system.. by BOSE. I guess the BOSE 5" front speaker was better than the lx 6 1/2.

But, anyways... they put a BOSE System in the EX Accords and thats why....

If you want to put 6 1/2's in the EX Accord its a very simple procedure, just a lil modification goes a long way...

It doesn't matter, you can make it fit... you just have to modify it a bit...tell him to get the bigger one....bigger is better

i believe it means, 5 1/4-coupes, 6 1/2-sedans. and also be sure to check out the mounting depth, if the speaker is too big it wont fit without modification.

and if he's got a coupe dont worry about it, having smaller speakers up front doesnt matter. as long as their high quality/high power speakers, they can handle the mid to high range. just be sure to have some sort of sub setup to take care of the low end.

i have a ex accord 90, the speakers that i have are 3 1/2 in the door, 5 1/2 are possible with a new inside panel put in by your local audio store, could run you about $30 american. pz
