Temp Gauge
I have a 97 Grand Prix GT with 154,000 miles on it
When I am sitting at a light for a long time the temperature gauge start to move up close to the needle before the red and then when I start driving the car it stays under 210. I am trying to figure out why this happens because I flushed the radiator system and changed the therm with a delco therm and the problem is still occurring, can somebody please help me out? |

I'm glad I don't have to worry about that. My fans start to kick in at 186 degrees due to the re-programmed DHP ECU. ![]() Thrasher CAI, DHP v1.0 ECU, Granatelli CAI Tuneable MAF, 3.4 SC pulley, Hi-Flow CAT, u-bend delete, 180 TS, TB spacer, MSD 8.5mm wires, AC Delco 41-932 spark plugs, Goodyear Gatorback Serp. & SC Belt ET: 14.3 @ 96 mph

I do not know why, but it do. I checked the fans and both of them are spinning. The thermo that was issued to me was 180 degrees, so I am lost. |

Checkout this message thread on AF Grand Prix forum. Info may be helpful. He had a clogged radiator (5 internal lines) causing his overheating problem. His flushing didn't help and had to take it to a professional. Plus when you did the flush was the air bled out if the system? In his case we suspected that the Dexcool went South on him and possible contamination with regular green anti-freeze and failure to bleed air out of the cooling system. Good luck! http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=412507 ![]() Thrasher CAI, DHP v1.0 ECU, Granatelli CAI Tuneable MAF, 3.4 SC pulley, Hi-Flow CAT, u-bend delete, 180 TS, TB spacer, MSD 8.5mm wires, AC Delco 41-932 spark plugs, Goodyear Gatorback Serp. & SC Belt ET: 14.3 @ 96 mph
