stingray vette goes down
Well been awhile since I've had anything bite. Not much of a race, but something. I have to start carrying my vid cam with me. I've had the car tuned up, new exhaust, valve float gone along with lowering springs.
I was driving around with a friend and this guy in a late 60's? stingray was in a parking lot laughing it up with people pointing at me as I drove by. I guess dumbass couldn't hear the blower  I noticed earlier and later in the night he's always driving by me in the 2nd lane trying to catch a light. Well right before he leaves I catch a red, and he times the light just right it was yellow the other way and red still our way. I notice him slowing up just a bit, I launch perfect as it turns green and I let out a slight chirp I hear his engine come to life, but to late I'm gone  I hit 40 in a 30 and slow down. Takes him 5 seconds later, then he passes in town leaving towards country roads. I decided to follow him through some corners (must've thought he could out corner me too) in short we hit a long road 25 then 35. He drives it 5 blow then I pass him in the 45 zone see if he wants to play more, nope I went 45-50 in a 55 leaving it in 4th so he could hear it. I hit a stop sign throw some revs turn left then romp on it spinning all the way to 65-70. He went straight  hopefully I meet him again I want more of a challenge, but I don't think he'll bring it. Sounds like he had a cam as it loped at idle, but was rather sad sounding when he gunned it in town.Summary Guy in stingray laughs at me Play with him in town from a light Follow him out of town Tossed rev's and went, but he's a no go.

Nice kill on the Vette.
In the 60's there were so many different motor/tranny options with Vette's that there really is no way of telling what you raced. Good kill none the less. Rob

thanks guys, yeah I figured he had nothing special. I bet he's not so quick to laugh
 course they were probably laughing cause of the formula sticker, little do they know

Nice kill. My neighbor has a stingray, and I always thought it was kinda slow, but as Rob said, there were alot of different options. And of course the guy's 7 second dragster with monster blower more than makes up for whatever the vette lacks!

sounds like he may have more money than brains. people figure cuz they got a noticable cam its gonna own on the street, but more ofthen than not its too much cam for wuts otherwise a mild engine. i like to see those guys get beat by not-so-common cars. good job lol
