Thinking of HKS 2835's

Guys I am seriously looking at purchasing twin 2835's HKS Turbos ,, I wanna know the difference between the 2835, and the 2835R I have seen on the HKS web site ,,

Any comments on these turbos I would really appriciate it... as I only know they can pump put over 700hp

What RPM are the good for ???
how much boost can they push out???

and how are they compared to the GT30 series ,, or the 2540's as many think about getting.

My GTR34 will be for street use not too much lag but enough to blow away modded cars on the street.... a application I can also take it to a race track and do some nice testing and driving pleasure against other Skylines, Evos and Porches.

Hi BBD,

I just got my turbos back from TURBONETICS in Cali.
They upgraded my stock turbos with super 60 and T4 wheels.
Tested to 66k RPM, and good for 350hp each.

Thats the same as HKS 2835s. But the price dif is "A LOT".

I paid about $1,700 for the upgrade.

Check them out. Good luck.
Robb

veilsideR32, what exactly did they do to the turbos? Did they simply replace the ceramic with steel? I assume these are the stock T28 Garett? How is the performance? What was turnaround time?

They bored out the turbo housings to fit larger wheels. I have pictures of the new ones next to a stock set. (before and after) there is a big differance. It took them about 4 weeks to do it.
I am not finished with the motor yet, so I do not know how they work yet. I'll let you know.

Take care,
Robb

PS, I am selling my stock set of turbos.

I put HKS 2540s on my r32 gtr and can say lag was not a problem at all and a nice dayly driver. If you want to slap a couple of 2540s in there make sure you fit camshafts and do the head porting to suit.I know another R33GTR with 2540s only and there's big lag.
Currenly purchased an R34GTR and are thinking of HKS 2535s myself, the quick easy fix.
