SAT-1 Astra DTM 2001 - Alain Menu

Decals from MR Moon decals in Germany. Used the SMS carbon fibre set, the rest is OOB.

Thanks for looking.

Paul.

Wow, I love that livery and the execution on this is awesome, super clean. Where can you get Mr Moon decals?

The decals were only a ltd run of 500 pieces. I ordered them from his website (www.mrmoondecals.de). He now no longer does decals for cars only Fire trucks !!

Re: SAT-1 Astra DTM 2001 - Alain Menu

Very, very nice. The decals look v cool. Pity Mr Moon has moved onto fire trucks! Those are some nice decals, which after getting an airing on this site, would have sold quite a few more sets I imagine.

Any 'progress' shots?

Very nice work! Looks great.

I've got a set of those decals (thanks to Seb!). It actually requires a few subtle mods to carry the livery on the decals sheet, or at least it does in all the pics I've seen.

How so, I think I have managed to acquire a set of these.

Re: SAT-1 Astra DTM 2001 - Alain Menu

As I understand it (but am far from an expert and stand to be corrected) early in the season the livery was different with the SAT1 logo in a box. Tamiya's Astra is the early season car. Later the livery changed to the above and the cars changed, different sides, extended panel behind the front wheels and circular intakes on the front bumper being the most obvious. Having said that, there may have been a race or two where this configuration existed, but I haven't seen pics. They used white headlight surrounds at some events as well.

Thanks for all the positve comments guys.

The SAT-1 car did run in several liveries in 2001, however the car is a 2000 non-factory car so the Tamiya kit is an accurate representation.
Here's a few pics I found.

Really great job !!! I love that car !
It's a pity the decals are not produced anymore. I would have bought one I think !
Furthermore, it's a Swiss pilot !!!

Glancing at first pic, I thought it was real. Great work on this not often seen car and livery. Something different!
