compression and cold plugs

two questions. how do cold plugs effect engine performance while not using n20 in an n20 setup?

are pistons the only thing that effect compression in a n/a setup? how much will hp increase by switching pistons? for example i've got a d16z6 and think its 9.1:1 compression. if i switched to say a 10:1 or 11:1 compression pistons how will this effect performance?
