Question Wide tires?

Ive got a quick question, i was crusing yesterday and i saw an si civc 1993(i think it was that year) with wheels that looked like they where wider, and they were sticking out a bit on the side, the thing is he didnt have any rims just stock, so how is this possible?

I don't know, but my guess is that he had wheel spacers. Companies like H&R make them. I think the go between the hub(is that the right word) and the wheel to push it out.

Actually, wheel spacers are tight sparkie, so if you'd please just sit there in your little computer chair and keep your mouth shut, that'd be great... I have 4" spacers on my car and it drives so much better.

So anyway, yeah, look into those and pick up a pair... I like mine a lot...

as for te wheel spacer thing. if you think it's ugly, tell that to the my bogarts, which need spacers to fit.

Absolutely not... its no differant then anyone on here talking smack about "ricers" or any of you driving down the road and pointing out the "drug dealers" in their SUV's riding on 22's blasting rap music... You all do it, every day -- my stereotyping was said sarcastically, if you dont like it -- then dont read my comments :flash:

Firstly, I firmly believe that spacers should aid in the correction of a undesired offset of a wheel... not to make a car look cool. Moreover, if you do add spacers w/ stock rims, that will set your original offset off which may affect your alignment.
Second, it is possible to fit a wider tire onto any rim but, you cannot exceed over a centimeter because it will cause uneven tire wear.
That said, I was originally going to go w/ a wider set of tires on my stocks but, considering that I was going to get rims this month and the fact that I might need my stocks for winter I didn't. In snowy conditions, narrow tires work best.
