New life...

*This is a very good story. I highly suggest you read it because I put great effort into typing it for you*

I'd first off like to thank Kris for taking the time to help me out with swapping the new motor into my Civic this past weekend. I'm not going to say what it is that I swapped in, so don't bother asking. It was a fun evening, moments here and there were a little blurred, due to the fact that we pulled an all nighter to do it. Overall a fun experience nonetheless. I won't lie either, Kris did the majority of the work, but I can honestly say, I make one hell of a flash light holder .

So, I was able to take the Civ home without any problems, and I knew Saturday night was going to be a welcoming night for the Civ. Which it surely did turn out to be one. I ventured up to State St. where I always find myself on Saturday nights. It was 10 PM and the local traffic was beginning to die down. This is when most of the so called "racers" come out. I had made one round through State St. and not to long after a challenger soon approached. A very sleek looking black Altima (Latest Gen) came along my side. Astonished, inside I took note to a car full of very cute blondes. Well, unfortunately, they seemed to young, so I didn't try to make any advances but just smiled. They all waved back. Then took off. But, they slowed down back to my side. Hmmmm...let's go.

Surprisingly, they wanted to race. What the hell I figured this would be my first challenge with the new motor. Why not chance it. The passenger, yelled out "On 3!". I nodded. We were already going 40 mph so I dropped it down to second and kept pace. "One! Two! Three!" WWWWAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!! I took a single carlenght lead, then hit 3rd gear at 7500 rpm (holy shit 7500 rpm!). I leaned forward a bit and noticed they were still in my blind spot. Continued up, and took notice again, they were back 3 carlengths. At that moment I noticed I was nearing 90 and decided that that was a little too fast for the local cops to let go for warning. I slowed down, and the gals did also. They came to my side, and I waved and smiled. They did the same, and they tried again for another run. I repeated the same run, and then they turned around. Nice...

About 20 minutes later I sprung my chance at very nice Iroc-Z. Black, gold wheels, and the Iroc-Z decal was in gold as well. Very clean. The dude noticed me looking, thus, he dropped it and took off. I smirked. Looked very sluggish. Probably wasn't running to greatly. Meh...I'll take a stab. I creeped up slowly, and he looked over at me again. Gave me the thumbs down, and smiled. I pointed forward, and he nodded and smirked. 45 mph ( I love starting at 45 BTW) and I dropped to second. The Civ whined, he and I took off. As I figured, he wasn't running smoothly, and at the end of 2nd I was 1 1/2 cars up, and he was still trying, so I popped it into third and hit 70 finishing it off 2 lenghts ahead. He came back and I gave him the thumbsup. He smirked at me again, nodded slightly, and dropped back. Feeling pretty good by now.

It was nearing Midnight, and State was dying down. So, I made my final run, and turned around. A grand prix and Civic seemed to be going at just as I turned around. They flew past me, and I heard the exhuast of the Civic buzzing as they went by. They caught a red light, so I caught up, and was rolling down the middle of them, but the light changed and they took off. Time to play a little catch up. The Grand Prix was busting the Civic's ass (not mine ) and I was slowly catching up, I passed the other Civic, and caught the Grand Prix (mid 90's). I looked for a GTP badge, but all I could see was the light peeling of where the badge should have been. So, I figured it had to be. The other Civic (4 dr lx) came rolling up along the left side of me, while the GTP was on my right. Threeway, yummy.

We passed an intersection, just making sure we were clear of cops. The GTP yelled over to me "THIRD HONK!" I waved, and looked to the Civic driver. He heard him and nodded. *HONK*HONK* and then there was a pause for about 5 secs. I looked over then *HONK*. Dirty bastard, he started to take off. A quick reaction and I dropped to 2nd quickly, and took chase. The 4dr quickly fell back behind us, atleast 3 lenghts, while I started to climb on the GTP. Took a moment, but by 80 I passed him up and shut down at 95 mph. My need to win took over me, and I didn't clearly think to slow down. But adrenaline takes over after a certain point. Meh. Anyway. They GTP driver pulled up and waved for me to pull over. The Civic came along too. We pulled into some grocery store parking lot and the GTP passenger literally asked me 21 questions. They asked me to pop the hood, but I wouldn't . Just said there was a swap, and a few "bolt ons", nothing special. The Civic driver just smiled, and complimented me. Said I had a very fast Civic. Never had that compliment before. Seriously.

I went home with satisfaction. Not being able to drive drove me nuts. This night was literally the best night I have ever had. It was very refreshing and cleansing. I hope for new and better things to come along. This more than likely was the best weekend I've had in a long time. Once again, thanks to kris. He taught me many new things, including how to swap a motor. I also realized that power tools fucking own. A much greater appreciation for them . Expect some great stories for the future too.

Re: New life...

Well, its still NA becuase you're still member number one!, lol.

And you may as well break down and say what engine you swapped! I mean you're going to get asked by everyone and their mom!

And besides, you could tell me and I still wouldn't know what engine you swapped, lol! All of those number/letter combinations that import engines use don't mean jack shit to me!

Anyhow, nice runs. I hope you atleast let the engine set and idle awhile before you flogged it like that, lol. And it might would be a good idea to change the oil in it again, you know, just becuase its probably rebuilt or new.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
