Dude, that thing got a Hemi?

BA-BAM! Got this model on wednesday of last week and haven't had a chance to work on it again yet, but here are some pictures to entice you.

The model is a Dodge 426 Hemi. I am currently making it in 3d in AutoCAD 2004. It took my a hour and a half to create an accurate model of the Cam Shaft.

Move if needed since I don't know where this should go.

Re: Dude, that thing got a Hemi?

I'll print out a unrenderd and a rendered drawing of the Cam. Getting those little bump things at the right angles was a bitch. Not sure what material to make it, probably going to be a plastic since there and no metal except brass, copper, and gold.

Neat stuff. I'd love to see the CAD too. I was thinking about getting this model, hope to see the finished product soon!

Erm, shouldn't this be in Completed and In-Progress projects tho?

Re: Dude, that thing got a Hemi?

This is a really good model, nice and detailed. My friend who has built a couple of engines was impressed with the detail of it. The only problems he saw was the injectors and the firring order. I really don't know where this should go since the progress threads are for actual vehicle models, it never says anything about a motor though.

Re: Dude, that thing got a Hemi?

Ye ask and ye shall recieve...usually. Well, today I created the first piston and piston rod, the drawing doesn't show the piston rings since they weren't in there at the time of the printing, but I did go in later and add them in. So far, 3 hours and two parts, looks like a good start. Tomorrow I will start making the crankshaft, hopwfully it will be easier than the pistons.

Picture of the Cam and the first piston.

Yes those hexagons on the piston rod are the actual bolt ends, probably the easiest part of that, but a very small detail.

I have this feeling that the computer is going to die once I acctually start getting the block and headers made then go to render.

So, this thread is no longer a progression on the actual model, but one on the recreation of the model. Have fun watching.
