me, vs. Chevy 3500 van

It happened last night. I'm on my way home from my friends house and i pull up to a light, where this chevy 3500 van or ford van (i don't know which it was, couldn't see that, but it was a company van). Well this guy was inching and when the light turned green he launched normally then he just gunned it!! So i gunned it too and left way behind. The only reason i'm posting this race is becuase this is what kind of people i tend to encounter. I got no luck. I see car worthy of racing but, most of these people where i live are all show (i'm pretty sure they got some go), but all they car about is systems and rims. The other day, some chick in tercel was tailgating me hard, then when we finally approached a light, she pulls over in the lane next to me. She wanted to race, i'm like what the hell? Well, that race was over before it began. I don't understand, does anyone live in the boston area?

LOL!! Seriously though, how the hell do you guys get all these races? I can't get anyone to bite. Most of the time when i pull up to a light and a noticeable opponent is spotted in the rear, they don't ever pull up all the way the do a slow ass creep and stop by my rear quarter panels.

Damn, it didn't want it to come to that. Cuz there are a lot of pricks out there, and i don't wanna be one of them. But if i have to, shit i'll do it. I'll point fingers, laugh and rev all at the same time.

Isn't "IROC-Z" 5 letters? Possibly you're just talking about the IROC name, but I'm a stickler and an asshole at that, so I just had to point it out.

Anyways, when I was tooling around the high school to pick up my brother (when his FC was in the shop for fuel problems), there would always be this red/white Astro Van waiting for me and revving like crazy at me.

That's a bulky Chevy Astro Van vs. a S5 RX-7 Turbo II on curved road. Big mistake on this kid's end.

I pick up my brother and pull out of the little driveway from the school, and he follows me at a distance until I turn onto River, which is about a mile and a half of serpentine road with a few 90-degree-plus turns thrown in for good measure. I use this road to lose annoyances. As soon as I hit the pavement on River, the Astro Van guns it and chugs past me. I'm courteous enough to give him the lead. He'll need it.

2 turns at about 50mph later and I've passed him. I hear his engine pulling hard as I pass, and I'm laughing because the van is leaning badly to the right as he turns it. I just wave and leave him in the dust as I head home.

I'm in pretty much the same predicament as you, Link85x. Nobody worth their shit will actually bite when I want them to, and a buttload of morons in shitty cars take the chance when I DON'T want them to. There's a pair of Mustang GTs that I want a piece of, yet they never respond. A little team of Nova and Prizm econoboxes, on the other hand, practically throw themselves at me every day.

What is up with these people?

Thats exactly what happens to me. I see Mustangs, Rx-8's, and others fast cars all the time, but they won't bite at all. I swear when ever i WOT, people turn heads and look like a they never seen something like this before, and it's just a 305!! They only good race i can say i've gotten into was against a bike, and i got completely slaughter. Was not even funny.

Never raced a bike before, but I know I'd get my ass handed to me if I did.

Best race I ever had was against my brother's S4 RX-7 N/A. The way he had it set up, he could stay on my ass the whole way through River road and never push the engine. Too bad he had to detune it. That car was a monster.

Well, I only had the Turbo II for a few months, while he had his S4 for at least a year. He had a lot more experience than me at the time.

Nowadays I can beat his ass on the drop of a hat.
