Ok, check this shit out. this new guy at my job starts asking around out of the blue if anyone here races. obviously one of my employees points me out. I get interested cause he says he wants to race me for money.
cool right? wrong.
I go talk to the guy just now. and the shit starts to roll out of his mouth. He says he has a 91 300ZX. I go look for it. must be invisible cause I dont see it.
I ask him where its at, he says he has no tag so he has it at home.
My boy asks what he has done to it. he says he sold the turbos to buy rims and a body kit.....
I laugh, "you sold your turbos for rims? WTF?"
the ricer: yeah, but my heads are still ported
me: so your running it with the turbo pistons or the non-turbo
ricer: I'm keeping the turbo pistons in it cause it holds alot of NOS.
me: yeah but they are low compression, how much HP is it putting out then?
ricer: I dont know but I run the quarter in 12 seconds.
me: so how fast was it with the turbos?
ricer: 9 seconds
me: well then youll kill me cause I run 15.5
ricer: bullshit, my boy has the same car you have, non-turbo and he runs 13s
me: oh well then how soon can you get it out so we can run?
ricer: soon

so now my co-worker here is pissed cause I am doubting this guy......does this sound fishy to anyone else or am I wrong here?

that guy is so full of shit its not even funny, check out this car. he probrably can't afford a TT so he bought a non turbo and changed the rims so its hard to tell if its a turbo or not. the turbos will have Twin turbo ectched on the rear hatch by the taillight, it will also have a wing. the best way to tell besides poping the hood and looking for the charge pipes coming from the compressors is lookin at his cluster. a TT cluster will have a boost guage. if hes does, and you look under the hood and see no charge pipes coming from the turbo compressors, then hes telling the truth as weird as that sounds.

I've been around these type of guys all too often. there wont be a race, he will keep taling shit and never go for it. he'll come up with some excuse and try to find a friend with a faster car then me and try to get someone else to fight it out for him.
eh, I just thought it be funny cause who the hell takes appart a turbo car to sell the go-fast parts to buy rims? if he can afford a turbo car he can afford rims!

not to mention the time and labor it takes to pull the turbos out of those cars, and what did he do to block off the oil and coolant feeds going to the turbo? how about the oil return lines? too many things to take into consideration.

Ask him if he got 'Fernelli' pistons or some random name that sounds like a company so he can be all "Yah man thats the only way I could run 12's" and you can catch him in his shit storm. At least do something like that to see if you can catch him in a lie and prove he's just rice.

I have to deal with the same thing with the guy at my work with the volvo. That and one of my close friends has no idea what a quarter mile is so he just assumes its a much shorter distance and that his car can run 13's (i-4 accord sedan) and mine can run 10's (v6 eclipse gt).... A lot of people just don't know what they're talking about.
