Ninja EX500/500R is the ebst "beginner" bike. Google it, and see if I don't know what I'm talking about :P

Plenty slow enough for beginner, pleanty fun enough for the vetran.

Re: first bike?

Get A Suzuki Gs500 Or Katana 600. Those Are Good Learning Bikes. Don't Get A 250. After A Few Weeks You'll Be Ready For A Bigger Bike! Just Don't Do Like A Lot Of Morons And Go Out And Buy A Liter Bike For A 1st Bike.
