I posted some pics a while back on a bike I was building.
Here's a short clip of the finished bike. http://www.bartonekdragracing.com/ge...s/mov00028.mpg http://www.bartonekdragracing.com/gene_xl600.html for some crappy pics. Better attempts will be added in the future. Thanks!!! |

Cool & interesting. What type of paint are you using on the engine? And what are the engine mods?

Re: assembled and completed
I had some PPG Viper red paint left over from when I built my jet ski, it's the brightest red that I've found. Dupli-Color (from Wal Mart) makes a high heat clear that doesn't turn yellow. I used a light coat of color and clear on the cylinder and head to maintain adequate cooling. The cases got a heavier coat, and the frame has PPG clear coat. The wheels and hubs are powder coat.
I rebuilt the engine when I restored the bike a long time ago. It has a high compression Wiesco, I ported the runners, milled the head and polished the valves. I thought of installing a better cam, but I want to keep it reliable for long highway hauls. Other than some carb work, there's not much in it. I do have a lightened flywheel I need to install, and it does have a lot more potential. It has 100MPH gearing and it pulls the front wheel going into 3rd w/no problem. I just need to practice, I've been off of it for a long time. Thanks!!! A friend of mine had a really fast GTP. You have any mods in yours? |
