Brake Light Switch Location

I just joined this forum and thought I could get some advice of a Windstar problem. I have a 2000 Windstar and the brake lights stay on often (I've had a dead battery twice because of this). I have to kick the brake pedal a few times to get it to go off. The brake pedal seems secure (not a lot of play) and appear to be up all the way at rest (a little bungie cord pulling the pedal up didn't help). Where is the brake light switch located and is there an adjustment that I can perform? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Brake Light Switch Location

The switch is on the underside of the brake pedal. If you look up under the dash, you will see a rod that goes through the firewall. The switch is attached where the rod and pedal meet. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
