rainy day fun

I had nothing else to do and grabbed my camera and took some car shots. I have a lot more but these were some of the ones that turned out best.

Re: rainy day fun

Nice photos - love the 3rd one, especially with how well the red car contrasts with the dominant green of almost everything else.

The 4th picture is nice as well, but in my opinion, the lights almost seem to be overpowering. Perhaps if just the parking lights and foglights were on, rather than the main beams, it would allow more of the car to be seen?

tell me if i'm going over the top with the analysis....

pic 1

in focus and good selection of aperture. good car prep, but must keep your car nice and clean is this wasn't planned no nasty reflection in the car either. this pic is very busy though. there's too much stuff going on. also close the windows on the car and it'll look at lot better. i would have put the car up against the wall with the grafitti on it and then filled the frame with the car.

pic 2

the back of the car is a little soft. you could have done with a slightly smaller aperture for greater depth of field. it looks like the chimneys are growning out of the car. i would have used a tripod and step ladder and got up higher than the car and looked down on it using a wide angle lens so i could also include the chimneys, but they would no longer be coming out of the car. good idea though.

pic 3

as other have said, this is your best pic. very well done. i wanted to leave this one alone, but i would have made one tiny small change - moved to the right a little bit to get the leaf off the wheel.

pic 4

good idea. i think i would have grabbed my step ladder again.

pic 5

the rain looks very cool. i don't think all the space on the left hand side is needed though. i would have kept the same perspective and focus, but moved the camera to the right a bit.

pic 6

i'm crap at photoshop, so can't comment!

all in all very good. you're put effort in and thought about what you were doing - and it shows.

hth,
j.

Re: rainy day fun

Thanks for the comments guys, Zzpza your not over the top at all I have just started playing around with photography and need all help I can get. Like I said this was a last moment idea, I only had my canon a95 and a mini pod that I keep in my car to work with. On the 4th pic I agree completely and have a lot more like that that turned out worse, the headlights and fogs are tied in together so it’s really all or nothing and darn near impossible to get a front shot with the lights on. I love the higher angle ideas but I had nothing to stand on around there, I will have to make a more planned trip in the near future. Again thanks for all the comments I will take them to hart and maybe get better, I hope.

Re: rainy day fun

Nice pics

I need to start messing around with my camera instead of letting it sit on my desk gathering dust
