Question Intake Problem with XRS

Hey i was wondering if someone could help me out with this problem....

Ok well, i made a custom intake for my 2005 corolla xrs, and i hooked everything back up to how it used to be and it ran good but it seemed as if it wasnt reving when i accelerated.... anyways... i later took it apart to spray paint the tubes (without letting spray get in the insides or the sensor) and my check engine light is constantly on... can anyone help????

Welcome to the AF!

I bet the CEL is a result of the new intake and not the painting. Many times the ECM will not activate the CEL until you have started the car and driven it twice or something like that. Put the old intake back on and see if it goes away. My guess is you're running lean or you didn't connect the sensors tight enough.

Hey Brian thanks for the reply didn't know if anyone was going to actually answer my question lol....... but ive been running the engine with it on for quite a while now... i thought it was the computer having to get used to it and that it would turn off eventually. It might be that my sensor isnt tight enough.... u mentioned something about the CEL and ECM? im not exactly sure what those are... i know sounds newbish... can u explain what it is?
