Abs Stopped, Dangerous?????
I want to purchase a 96 accord, but the ABS light is on. A mehanic told me that it is unsafe, and can damage/lower? the car. Is this true, I dont know what he meant exactly, but can it damage the car?

Re: Abs Stopped, Dangerous?????
As far as driving without ABS, I prefer it. I don't think it would damage the car any other way (certainly not lower it) The only way it could damage the car is if something like the vehicle speed sensor relies on the ABS reluctor for something.

Re: Abs Stopped, Dangerous?????
From my understanding the ABS is completely separate from the standard brakes and any other systems. If the ABS light it on it means that the ABS system did not pass its self test and it has disabled the ABS system.
I don't even think ABS not working will fail a safety certification. (but I don't know this for a fact) |
