What if...... automatic trannys

What if you were to buy a '03 or '04 Cobra and wanted to convert it to an
automatic? Could it be done? How much of a pain in the a-- would it be?
I know there are C-4's that could handle the 390 horses rather easily.

Not saying I'm gonna do it...Lord knows I couldn't afford it. Was just wondering.

On another note....earlier reports were saying the next gen Cobra was gonna have a 6 speed manual and an optional 5 speed auto taken from one of Ford's trucks and geared differently. Since the GT500 unveiling at the NY auto show, I've seen no more mentions of an auto in the next Cobra. Not gonna be an option after all?

C-4 in an 03-04 Cobra has been done about as big of a pain as any other manual to auto swap.

There is a guy here that installed a auto tranny from a Explorer to his 03 Cobra....he didn't have any issues, beside some computer work.
