Some questions about the SR20det...
I have a few questions about the SR20det. I've been lookin around, and my impression is that AC doesnt come with the engine? is this true, and is there anyway to add it if i do end up getting one? i'm thinking of getting an s14 sr20det for a 93-96 240sx. also, is there an s15 front end conversion for a 93-96 240sx?? if anyone has any websites they'd like to post, i'd be appreciative. thanks for all the help in advance. if you want to email me or IM me with info, its [email protected], and mustang43084.

I've seen S15 front end conversions on 180SX and S13 Silvia's before.
From what I've seen the 240SX in the states is the 180SX from Japan which is based on the S13 chassis. I don't see the conversion being a problem. I'm not sure if it's as simple as a straight bolt-on though. No web links unfortunately... As to the A/C unit on the engine. It may come with the engine but this would depend on your wrecker. If it doesn't come with it then your standard A/C unit may bolt straight up or you may be able to buy the A/C unit as a seperate item... :bandit:

Sorry I was wrong on that one. The 240SX is the same as the S14 200SX. Have a look at the below link for a front end conversion:

Most of the time the ac compressor won't come with the engine. In some cases, such as buying a complete front clip, it will come with it. If you don't get it then you can use the AC compressor from a 91 and up 240 SX engine, the KA24DE. There are 4 bolts I think and about 3 of them will line up but you can still bolt those 3 on and it will work fine. The AC compressor from the KA24E engine (came in the 89-90 240) will not bolt up at all.
Also you said that you were looking for the S15 front end conversion for a 93-96 240. I know that there are kits for the S13 240 SX (89-94) at www.importfan.com , but as for the S14 240 SX (95-98), I'm not sure about sites for that.
