Some questions about the 2003 and newer models.

Some questions about the 2003 and newer models.

Hi. Since I’m from Sweden so isn’t the Lincoln so common here and I have to ask some “stupid” questions to you all.

1. There are two different seats. First I thought it was just two different years. But I found a 06 with the “old” seats? Could you choose kind when you bought them? Which are nicest to sit on? The “old” looks softer for me but. Which years had what?

2. I don’t like the 03 steering wheel, the white emblem. The newer and more discreet looks nicer. Hard to change steering wheel, take a newer and mount in an older? Airbag.

3. Same about the rear bumper, on 07 did they start with hidden sensors, could I take a newer bumper and mount on older model and get fully back sensors?

4. I just noticed the strange buttons over the door handle, how do you use these. Guess its if you don’t which to use the key? Isn’t this dangerous, lots of kids will try to open it? Common thing on your new cars? Doesn’t look nice at all, disappointed but sure, guess I could remove, weld, and paint it and get the clean look it deserves.

5. Do you think there exists any airride kit for these cars to get full control on the height all around?

6. Any good to know about these cars?

Thanks!

Re: Some questions about the 2003 and newer models.

If I am reading your question correctly,
You want to kniw if one can change the steering wheel and airbag, and
You want to know if one can change the rear bumber also?

I can address those issues for you...
Although you may be able to change the steering wheel from one year to another, you CANNOT change airbags from one year to another...they are very different. (electronically as well as functionally)

There are no sensors in the rear bumper.

I hope this helps you

1) Yes, some seating options are available at the time of purchase.

4) Keyless entry has been on these cars since 1992 or 1993. Dangerous? Lots of kids? Looks bad? I can't say I agree with any of those statements. Kids don't touch my cars and I LOVE locking the keys inside.

5) You can add aftermarket air suspension to any vehicle but the Town Car wouldn't benefit from front air springs.

6) I've always loved my Conti's an Town Cars. I have six cars to choose from every time I leave the house, except for hauling smelly crap for the lawn, or MPG commuting I'll choose the Lincoln..

Re: Some questions about the 2003 and newer models.

Thanks for the answers.

1.
I can change steering wheel, but not the airbag? So – I can take a newer steering wheel and use the old airbag inside the new wheel, or?

2.
I have read that the 07 have hidden back sensors on the bumper. Which I just confirmed for my self looking at ads with images. So, I guess there should not be so hard to take a 2007 bumper with its hidden sensors and “plug it” on to an older 2003-2006?

3.
Which seat of those two models feels best to sit on?

4.
And any comment about the longer model? It’s very rarely I have people with me in the car and I’m sceptic about unnecessary large coupe since it just gets more noisy. But, I’m relative long, and it’s easier to find low-price ads with the extended model. So I’m not so sure how to think.

5.
About the headlight, no model has exeon lights as standard?

6.
Fuel economic – I have just read the factory numbers, but how much gas does it take in the real life?

7.
Rear seat heat – standard or option? (Sweden is a cold land unfortanly)

8.
What are common problems on these 03-06 models?

9.
The 03 Cartier or 04 Ultimate are the most expensive models, most common ads is signature and executive, but is it really any big difference on them? What will I gain to choose and Cartier or Ultimate? Fully equipped?

Thanks once again! :-)
