Emergency Situation! Need help ASAP

Today I brought my car into the shop to rotate my tires. When my friend (shop employee) attempted to remove one of my wheel locks, it came out cracked. It seemed to be previously cracked before today because there was already rust on the crack. Now, there is a small part of the wheel lock lodged inside the lug hole. I went to 4 different shops and they claimed that they wouldn't dare attempt to chisel or drill out the remaining bit of the lock in fear of damaging my rim. So I'm basically screwed now. I can't take off the wheel because a bit of cracked wheel lock is stuck there. If I get a flat, I'm screwed because I can't remove the wheel. What do I do?!

think of it this way, you gotta get it off sooner or later why not sooner b/c if you get it offa nd all is good yeah but if you dont you gotta buy a new rim which probly would be better than a flat out in the ghetto am i right?

Damn that sucks...the other day I caught a flat and had to call roadside assistance because the bastards who stole my car a couple months back stole my jack..figures right? I have the car for three years never get a flat, but as soon as my jack is gone...!

What kind of locks did you have? I'm looking to get a set, but I definitely won't get whatever you had.

I have McGard locks and they're the best you can possibly get right now. It's not their fault. One of my previous installers probably overtorqued the lock or was careless with the impact gun.

Keep us posted. How did it go? Did you end up getting it off? Thanks for the info...and McGard was on the top of the list. Still is I guess. Let us know how it goes.
