Talking Killer INTAKE PLENUM MOD for the VG30!!

This is a highly modded intake plenum for the vg30 engine. As we all know, the air flow into the engine limits the HP potential of an engine. Here's some info on flow results:

(this was written by the guy that tested one for me)

Here again are the test results I found with the modded plenum: at 28" of water. Stock plenum, lower intake, stock heads VS. Modded plenum, lower intake, Stock heads. These parts were bolted together and tested as a system. (notice that these are all with stock heads.)

.100 valve lift = stock 53cfm, modded 56cfm
.150 valve lift = stock 77cfm, modded 83cfm
.200 valve lift = stock 99cfm, modded 103cfm
.250 valve lift = stock 114cfm, modded 120cfm
.300 valve lift = stock 125cfm, modded 134cfm
.350 valve lift = stock 129cfm, modded 137cfm
.400 valve lift = stock 131cfm, modded 139cfm
.450 valve lift = stock 133cfm, modded 143cfm
.500 valve lift = stock 134cfm, modded 145cfm
.550 valve lift = stock 134cfm, modded 147cfm

what is interesting is that with a matchported intake and a quick porting job these values increased in progression to 173cfm at .550 valve lift. When highly ported these numbers increase another 20 CFM, and more importantly, are achieved by .400 - .450 valve lift which is a usable number with the cams and valvetrain we utilize.

In other words, the plenum was previously the bottleneck of the system, and now it becomes the heads. So by porting the heads at this point, an additional 20cfh can be achieved even at the .400-.450 lift. Ported heads on an otherwise stock engine (plenum included) will not see these gains, as the plenum is restricting flow.

Is this plenum worth $400, yes. On a 400 HP car would it get you 25 HP, I would have to believe it would. THE BET, We all would agree that a superior flowing system equates to power, Mike-HKS built a nice looking plenum but I haven't seen any test results. The Ass pucker testing method equates to heresay in my book, more hot air from Mike. Unfortunately, Morgans bet is more sound. 11% would mean 22HP on a stock engine, that's alot. If when tested this plenum achieves that goal, expect the price to double. Since I have already purchased mine, I am hoping it does reach that goal. I am waiting on Ferrea valves and my cam to be sent to me, and then I will test the plenum on the car with a chassis dyno.
-------------
I reformatted the above figures to be easier to read, and added in my comments (in parenthesis), but did not alter any figures.

All these figures were reached with nonturbo rates. Imagine what it does with turbo flow rates!!!

I'll try and attach a pic to this message... I had to compress it quite a bit cause it won't let me upload an attachment that's over 102k, so it's not real clear.

That is a debatable issue. Nobody has done any dynos comparing the two. I would suspect that there would be some differences on nonturbos, since the runner length is drastically different...but on turbos, I would think that my design would do better. Just speculation, but not tested proof.

My email is not the same as it is above, it is now EngloidATdespammed.com

and a newer pic...
