Mods for the Geo metro

I have a 95 Geo Metro, WHen I was dating my wife she had it, i laughed when I poped the hood the first time. But this is a very good car. It has 90k miles on it now and I drive it every day. It is very nimble, especially in Dallas traffic. It only has the 3 cyl and I was wondering if there was anyone who knew of some mods i can put on this car to make it just a little faster, I.E. 4 cyl motor, Storm motor, anything (besides nitro).. Any ideas would be apreciated :sun: in my Geo

You could probably fit a turbo and intercooler from an older model firefly or sprint.

A Geo Metro has a little more power than a Corvette starter motor (around 50-60 hp). Unfourtunatley, the little 1.0 cannot stand too much improvements in efficiency without the internals being damaged.

mod

I have a 95 metro 1.0 as well and found a website (www.surbo.net) that sells a devise that attaches in the intake pipe and gives a torque boost IF your car has a manual transmission. I bought and installed the surbo, and after some practice, (there is a throttle sequence that needs to be learned), the car has much better acceleration.

Just have to share

I have a buddy, owned a Geo Metro 1L 3 cyl. He was pushing 225 hp out of the 1L and was smokin GSRs....Umm..he is an auto mechanic and spent alot of time doing lots of internal work, i don't think it cost him to much, i would say he only spent like 1-2k in actual parts, the rest was all labor, porting and polishing his own head, new high lift cams, milled head, intake, custom header, no cat, custom exhaust....That thing was sweet, don't know why he sold it though

Well first off with the metro..you could sell it..and thats about it. It would probably be the best move anyone would ever make.

I'd need a dyno chart or a time slip to believe that he pushed 225 horse out of the 55 hp stock metro 3 cyl, only spending 2k at the most. I'm calling BS on this one until i see proof.

I dont know if its posible....but why do engine MODs when you could put a better tranny in it........Get a tranny with a better top end on it. It seems logical to me, but trannys dont always come at a cheap price. The only other Idea I had was get the head redecked, get new Bosch spark plugs, and maybe a new coil and distributor......thats all I can think of for a car that size!

Dont listen to any of this shit man. There is a suzuki engine, 1.3 liter twim cam, that came on the suzuki swift gt or gti I think. There are a lot of mods out there for this engine plus it comes stock with 100hp, almost TWICE your stock HP I have seen them in slavage yards. hope that helps!!

65 BISCANE!?!?! Oh man I just remember reading an article on hot rod of a 62 biscane with a twin turbo v8 pushing 1200hp...
