Re: new Jetta or old Carolla

any vw has horrible reliability anyways and way overpriced....i would stick with the corolla for way less money and way better reliability ...screw those con artists

hey you noticed the Ridgeline is the Avalanche to, good to know im not the only one.

and I never noticed the Jetta, Carolla similarities until now...Jeez VW I knew you guys were a little low on cash (thanks to Bugatti, Lamborghini, and that stupid Phaeton) but to steal blueprints from a Corolla? thats low! at least steal the bluebprints from the Mazda3 or something

I think this thread should become "the similar car" page, anyone got any others?

I remember somone posted one of the Kia Rio and New BMW 3-Series, having similar car lines, but it got closed for some reason.

That was closed because the user was a troll. He was banned.

Re: new Jetta or old Carolla

they're both three both cars.... there are bound to similar shapes just as they are on other three box cars (i.e 5 series).
besides, the line from bonnet to a-pillar are different, which your pics don't show, the rear bumper shape/lines are different and the boot shutline is different, the edges/curves are differenr as is general surface treatment.
the lights are different except they both have the circular cluster (which a lot of cars have), itself a motif of pinin-farina.

as for the ridgeline/avalanche comparison.
i see a lot of differences there as well.

of course, if all you're talking about is general silhouette..... in which case, the new aston V8 is very similar to the 911......

My VW loving friends have been complaining about the Mk. V Jetta for about a month now. Can't know for sure if its a blatant copy, but god damn, way to screw up the Jetta's styling VW... The mk. III and IV looked at least decent.

I've read a couple reviews on the base n/a version, and everyone says that the interior is nice, especially for the price, but its absolutely no fun. I hope as well that the GLi looks decent.

if VW wants to come out of misery it needs to do better than copying corolla and charging almost 30K{top of hte line new model} with horrible reliability.
