Re: WIP: Skyline GT-R34 (another)

You had the SAME problem that I did when I tried to two-tone my R34! I didn't lose ALL the gold, but all the top layers peeled off :\. I feel your pain man, hope you recover. Mine's still in the brake fluid.

Well, metallics especially tend to peel off primer or not when you mask over them. It's obviously an adhesion problem, and so far Floquil are the only paints I haven't had the problem with.

That's a great color. Too bad about the paint peeling. I haven't had a problem with my boyd's metallic paint peeling, so maybe the tape your using is too sticky. Try blue painters tape or some low adhesion masking tape.

Re: WIP: Skyline GT-R34 (another)

Just a side note:

I also find it funny that you masked in all the exact same places I did. The rear diffuser, where you stopped on the trunk....

Re: WIP: Skyline GT-R34 (another)

I was used Tamiya Mask Type, to mask the paint.

I was't use primer first.

First use tamiya color, and later duplicolor... put the mask, to paint in black.
When retire the mask, sorprise!, only the back parts are bad ¬¬

Thanks for the comments, i reestart tomorrow again
