1998 F-150 Dash Light bulbs
Anyone know how to go about replacing the bulbs behind the instrument panel cluster or whatever you want to call it. I'm not sure how many bulbs are behind that but all I have left that it lighted is about half of the speedometer.
Any help would be appreciated. Matt |

Re: 1998 F-150 Dash Light bulbs
You need to remove the bezel, gear indicator cable, instrument cluster. There are 7 or 8 bulbs behind the dash. They are 194 style ans the holder unscrews and bulb pops in. Look carefully at the printed circuit board for damage while you have it out.

Thanks for the response. I did tackle this job this morning and except for the pesky bolt that is located behind the light switch everything went good. You have to take that headlight switch out before you can get to that bolt. I took the 4 screws out that hold the gauge cluster in and was able to pull it out far enough to get my hand in behind to pop the bulbs out. All but one were burned out but I replaced all 4 just in case.
If anyone has any questions about this process feel free to email me. You can do the whole thing in under an hour. Matt |
