2000 blazer front discs 4x4 HELP! SOS!

I am in a bad jam.I started working on the Blazer weeks ago but got
very sick and was in bed for weeks.Thank God I beat it.
Heres my problem. On the drivers side I need to replace the disc.
I followed the advice on this forum.I removed the wheel and the front
caliper and brocket. The front disc should come off.I have tried hitting it
from behind,i have sprayed rust release, etc.Does anyone know a trick that might help me? Could I somehow use a puller on it?
I am very down on my luck my friends.God bless

Always replace rotors as a pair, not just one side.

Did you remove the center nut?

Hitting from behind with a big hammer should release it. May have to hit in multiple places. Not suggested if you are planning to reuse it.

Sounds like he is not keeping it, so whack it from behind with a hammer or sledgehammer. Once the caliper is removed it should just pull right off, so yours has likely fused itself with rust.

I'm not sure what nut BlazerLT is referring to. On my 2000 4x4, there is not nut to be removed. The disc slides right over top of the axle nut.

Please stop telling people to remove the center nut it is not necessary.

Will you please merge this with the original thread: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=377314

Hitting it from behind with a hammer is the most effective means that I know of. Find a place that you can get a pretty good swing, then hit it, rotate the rotor a little and hit it again. If you keep doing this and hit it around the circumference a couple times it should pop off. I have seen a few that were very stubborn and was able to remove them in this manner.

I would put a shop towel in between the hammer and the rotor if you are going to be keeping the rotor.

You probably aren't keeping it, so smash away!
