94 mustang gt.

Ight i need your guys advice. there is a green 94 mustang gt for sale 4800 dollers with 94 thousand miles. it has
-2 sizes bigger then stock cam
-bbk h pipe
-cat-back (dont know what kind)
-shoty headers
-hurst short throw shifter
-saleen front bumper
-cowl induction hood
- projector head lights
-A piller gauges 3
-hood pins
-tourqe thurst rims
-tinted windows
the guy brought it two yrs ago from a guy who was starting to make it a race car the trunk is gutted and the current owner put a rear seat back in. he has barly drove it in the past year and he brought a new f-250 so he has 550 doller a month payments. accroding to him he just doesnt need it anymore and it has no problems. now we went and looked at it and fired her up sounded heathly u could really hear the cam! but my dad said its leaking oil and the rack and pinion had oil all over it.
Now my thought is sell my stang black 96 gt for 7000gs asking price and buy his for 4500 or mybe less. that leaves me 2500 dollers in mods that i can do to her. fix anyproblems and go to the fun ford weekend and buy abunch of parts at the swap meets. what do u guys think?

Re: 94 mustang gt.

It's a good plan in theory but give me the miles, shape, mods of your 96 GT. Cause getting $7,800 for a mostly stock 96-98GT would be extremely tough.

Not trying to be mean but honestly the 98-98GT non-PI market is just absolutely brutal. These cars are averaging selling prices way below book.

Re: 94 mustang gt.

i would sell it for 7 grand when i brought it there were 3 other serious buyers for 7 grand so i figure i can sell it for 6500 or around there. My stang is in great condition exterior and interior not even a spot of dust it is cleaned 2 to 3 times a week washed every weekend waxed and polished all the time. it has a fire pony siliver bumper inserts and a pony elmblem over the ford emblem. it has 79000 miles which is kinda high alpine radio that was 400 dollers. chrome gauge bezel.
Thats kinda why i wanna sell my stang is bc the aftermarket is so damn expensive. its really hard to save 700 dollers for a cam etc but a 5.0 is 200 or 299 (kinda helps there is one vs two but u see what i am getting at) plus ill have 2500 to 3000 dollers to play with hell i could rebuild the engine for that or get i stroker or new heads intake or even a blower so i dunno. but i am having a hard time selling it to my father bc it has 94 thousand miles and he thinks that american cars arnt really relible past 100,000 miles i know that sounds like a import statment but he has only owned one import in his life always had mustangs and then a vw jetta. but just need ur imput bc mybe i am gun ho about this and need to back off and think or mybe just want it really bad bc i could spend 3 thou on it and could pry make it a high 12 car with that not saying i could handle or drive it into 12s but it could be that fast. so thanks guys for the imput and mybe ur guys opinions might help me convince my dad or mybe i am dumb for thinking this so if u think its bad idea go ahead and tell me!

If you can get $7,000 for it good job. I just know a lot of guys with perfect 96-98GT with a lot more mods than you and less miles and would be happy as shit to get $7,000 for em. So I wouldn't count on that money till you get your hands on it.

As far as selling a newer car to get an older one and using the extra money for mods is always one way to get faster. But like any older car even if not in miles but years you tend to run into more issues. So as long as you willing to gamble some lack of reliability for speed then it would be a good move. Also trading from the 4.6 to 5.0 does give you some more options.

Re: 94 mustang gt.

well i like the idea alot and if there is a problem 2gs or 3gs would beable to fix must engine problems but i am having a extremly hard time convincing my father. ty though for the imput, the bigest thing that is keeping me back is mine looks alot better inside and outside are nicer more crub appeal and my blk looks alot better then the green.
