Question Need help about polishing/waxing!

Ok I sprayed some TS-21 and wonder if I can polish it and wax it, will it work?

If I can poish and wax the body can I polish it, then decals, then wax?

Any body know good alternatives to Tamiya Wax and Compound that I can get at like Wal-Mart AutoZone or other retailers?

Sorry for all the questions! Thanks!!!

Re: Need help about polishing/waxing!

A search should find literally hundreds of ideas on polishing and waxing. But yeah, your suggestion will work. Most automotive polishes and waxes will work with Tamiya TS sprays, give it a test on some scrap first to be on the safe side.

Re: Need help about polishing/waxing!

I'm using Turtle Wax Compound on my Torino and it works quite well, and you'll have a lot left over for other uses such as waxing your real car.

Well thanks to CADguy (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...light=meguiars)I will be using Meguiars Scratch X.

Now anyone know a good wax?
Will Turtle Wax work with Scratch X?
Will wax hurt decals?
Will Scratch X hurt decals?

So I guess the steps are:
1.Paint
2.Let it cure for about 2 weeks
3.Sand with high grit (very smooth sand paper) and apply Meguiars Scratch X.
4.Let it dry for like an hour
5.Apply decals
6.Let decals fully dry(2 hours )
7.Wax with turtle wax the same way P-man did on Tamiya wax
8.Probably let that dry
9.Apply other parts such as spoilers with Kristal Kleer
10.Enjoy!

Easy as 12.......10 Thanks!!

Re: Need help about polishing/waxing!

Main Key is Wet Sanding/Polishing Compound. I prefer "Compound-Wetsanding" Works wonders.

TS-21 is Gold which is a metallic, all metallics should be clear coated(TS-13)before polishing. In my experience Tamiya's metallics will not polish well at all unless they are cleared, they become irregular and rub through way too easy. I hope you see this before you ruin a paint job.
